My name is in the name. Chef Melody Kima, owner and founder of The Melodious Kitchen. I'm a private chef working in Nairobi with individuals and families who'd like their meal times elevated and made a little more fun! I've been a chef for 5 years now after starting out commercially then moving on to establish The Melodious Kitchen in 2024.

I love how integral food is to African culture, and more personally (having been born and raised in Mombasa) to Coasterian culture, so cooking almost comes naturally to me. I love the way food brings us together. It's truly such a treat to cook and watch how happy it makes people. 

I grew up mostly cooking with my father, a fantastic chef in his own right, and having people over made it almost like a daddy-daughter take out duo: him on the grill and me on everything else 😂 That's what inspired me to start this experience. I want to create that same feel for families and all alike. A feeling of home. For me, it's about the people. 

My food has been said to have a nostalgic effect on most. I'd love for my clients to enjoy a different kind of meal than they've been used to, and to create some fun memories with the children's cooking classes like I had with my father.
